Indivisible Akron has announced the upcoming “Concert for Peace” fundraiser to be held Sunday, Sept. 21 at the First Congregational Church in Akron.
The event, which is co-sponsored by the church and musician Jim Ballard, will feature local artists performing their music and poetry, and will be emceed by Summit FM.
Immigration lawyer and grassroots activist Farhad Sethna will also give a talk focused on “seeking peace in an increasingly dystopian world,” the non-profit organization said in their news release.
The fundraiser will begin at 7 p.m. and will be a ticketed event, costing attendees $10 if purchased online or $15 if purchased at the door.
Group tickets are available for $9 for groups of five or more. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a social hour, snacks and a cash bar.
The evening will close with a performance by Ballard and The Strangs and a communal candlelight ceremony.
