ZANESVILLE – There were a couple close races for township trustees and for Zanesville City at-large representatives on Nov 4. However in the end, city council members retained their seats, while new members will join the South Zanesville Village Council.
The results for two school board and two trustee contested races were not available on Election Day, as the races had write-in candidates, according to the Muskingum County Board of Elections.
The results for the trustees races in Blue Rock and Meigs townships have since been released, however as of Tuesday afternoon the results in the Licking Valley and Morgan school board races were not available. The races overlap into other counties and the Muskingum County BOE is waiting on the outcomes from other counties before releasing the results. Those results will be updated as information comes into the local board of elections, noted Lindsay Peadon, board director.
Six candidates were running for three seats on the Morgan Local School Board. According to the Morgan County BOE, the top three vote-getters in that county were Beth Kutscherenko with 2,0994, Lynn Copeland with 1,603 and Jeffrey Shaner with 1,185.
Four candidates were running for three seats on the Licking Valley Local School Board. The top three selected by Licking County voters were Craig Nethers with 1,722 votes, Julie Stedman with 1,418 votes and Casey Williams with 1,385 votes, according to the Licking County BOE.
All results are unofficial until certified by the Muskingum County BOE.
