Hey, Guernsey County! Here's what you need to know to start your week

Reservations due for Reagan Picnic

The Republican party of Guernsey County’s annual Reagan Picnic will take place at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3, at Cambridge City Park. Those scheduled to speak are Senator Al Landis of the 31st District, Representative Adam Holmes of the 97th District,Representative Ty Moore of the 95th District and Guernsey County Commissioner Dave Wilson.

Reservations are due by noon Aug. 28, and can be made by contacting Darrel Fawcett at 740-260-4914 or darrel.fawcett@yahoo.com or Sandy Miller at 740-260-4880 and sandramiller@roadrunner.com. Cost is $40 or $75 for two.

Stock the Trailer contest

The Belmont and Guernsey County fairs are joining a youth-led statewide effort to fight hunger and give back to local community food banks by participating in the Fight the Hunger, Stock the Trailer contest, presented by Farm Credit Mid-America and sponsored by Rural 1st. This competition among Ohio county fairs encourages youth leaders to collaborate with their local community to collect food donations for local food banks throughout their county fair.

Additionally, Farm Credit Mid-America donates $500 to each fair board who participates and additional money to the winners in each region, totaling $63,000 to junior fair boards across Ohio.

● The Cambridge Amateur Radio Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 29, n the Guernsey County Administration Building.
