Road closures will impact traffic

COSHOCTON − The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced Ohio 60 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 21-22 for road work at the intersection of Ohio 541, which will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic.

Coshocton County Engineer’s Office announced the daily closure of County Road 425 between County Road 10 and Ohio 93, July 20-23. The 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. closure is for tree trimming.

Additionally, County Road 75 will be closed between Ohio16 and Township Road 289 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20, for road work.

Ridgewood boosters to hold golf scramble

WEST LAFAYETTE − Ridgewood Music Boosters’ inaugural golf scramble will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start Aug. 15, at River Greens Golf Course. Proceeds will benefit the band, choir and drama programs. Golfers can register by emailing ridgewoodmusicboosters@gmail.com, calling or texting 740-291-4075 or messaging the music boosters’ Facebook page. Cost is $300 for a four-man team. There are spots for 25 more teams.

West Lafayette men indicted

WEST LAFAYETTE − Two West Lafayette men accused of causing $13,900 in damages to Hickory Flats Golf Course have been indicted by a Coshocton County Grand Jury. They were indicted with one count each of vandalism, a fifth-degree felony, for incidents from June 9 to 10. Both were given a $2,500 bond and are due for arraignment at 9 a.m. July 20 in Coshocton Count Common Pleas Court.

Opportunity School exceeds standards

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Opportunity School has earned a preliminary exceeds standards ranking from the State of Ohio for the fourth consecutive year. The school has a 97% graduation rate, 94% attendance rate and 77% proficiency on state assessments. It exceeds standards on graduations rates, STAR reading and mathematics and gap closing. The program has offered personalized educational experiences for at risk students ages 16 to 21 since 2006.

Applications for unrestricted grants

COSHOCTON − Deadline to submit applications for the Coshocton Foundation’s unrestricted grant program is 4 p.m. Aug. 21. Grants are open to schools, churches, government agencies and 501c3 non-profit entities. More information is available at coshoctonfoundation.org or call the office at 740-622-0010.

Chorale hosting workshop concerts

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Cardinal Choral will present three concerts during its 11th annual music workshop at Muskingum University. The Way I Am by the Gem Tones will be at 7:30 p.m. July 21. Helen Welch and Friends will perform at 7:30 p.m. July 23. The chorale will perform One World, One Voice, One Song at 2 p.m. July 25.

Enchanted tea party July 22

COSHOCTON − The Empow-HER program of the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce will hold an Enchanted Garden Tea Party from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 22, at Clary Gardens, 588 W. Chestnut St. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Register online.

Phat Bowls’ ribbon cutting is July 23

COSHOCTON − Phat Bowls restaurant will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce at 9:30 a.m. July 23, at the business, 531 Main St.

Volunteers needed to plant trees

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Tree Commission will be plant 50 trees July 25 along parts of South Lawn Avenue and South Sixth, Pine and Bank streets. Volunteers are to meet at 8:35 a.m. at Philip A. Wanger, 763 S. Sixth St. Breakfast sandwiches and bottle water will be provided. Bring gloves. For more information, email Connie Miller at connie.miller@cityofcoshocton.com.

Veterinary office hosts cookout

NEWCOMERSTOWN – A 15th anniversary community appreciation cookout will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. July 25 at Bliss Veterinary Services, 488 E. Canal St., Newcomerstown.

Freedom Concert at Tyndall Church

COSHOCTON − Mencer, White and Cheney will perform a Freedom Celebration Concert at 1 p.m. July 25, at Mission 316 Tyndall Church. Lunch for a donation is at 11:30 a.m. For more information, call 740-502-2125.

Comedian to perform

● Coshocton County Regional Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. July 20, at the Coshocton County Engineer’s Office.

● Coshocton County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. July 21, at the Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services Building. Mark Fortune will speak on utilizing artificial intelligence to aid genealogical research.
