Hadley Porter, Samuel Baker win Stark County Athlete of the Week vote

Athletes from Hoover and Tuslaw high schools won the voting for the Stark County High School Athlete of the Week for April 27-May 3.

Hadley Porter of Tuslaw is the girls winner and Samuel Baker of Hoover wins for the boys. Porter, who plays softball, received 60.59% of the votes cast. Baker, who runs track, received 39.52% of the votes cast.

A total of 29,692 votes were cast overall.

Hadley Porter, Tuslaw softball

Totaled two RBIS and two hits, including a home run, in a win over Northwest.

Samuel Baker, North Canton Hoover track and field

Won the 1,600 (4:30.96) and 3,200 (9:56.62) at Perry 9th-10th Grade Invitational.
