The Great Lakes Community Action Partnership will help eligible residents in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca and Wood counties stay cool with the Summer Crisis Program, taking place July 1 through Sept. 30, or until funds are exhausted.
Eligible households must be at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines (e.g. $27,930 annual income/household of one; $57,750/household of four). For households with eight or more members, income is based on 60% of the state median income.
Cooling assistance available to senior citizens
In addition to meeting income eligibility requirements, clients must also have a household member who is age 60 or older, has a documented medical condition, have a disconnection notice or disconnected utilities. The Summer Crisis Program is also available for households trying to establish new electric service.
Last year, GLCAP assisted 907 families in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca and Wood counties.
