Geno Stone injury: Bengals defensive back 'week to week' after leaving preseason opener

Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Geno Stone suffered a soft tissue injury during the team’s preseason opener against the Eagles in Philadelphia.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced Saturday at training camp at Paycor Stadium that Stone will be “week to week” because of the injury. Stone is expected to miss the Bengals’ second preseason game against the Washington Commanders.

Stone is in his second season with the Bengals after playing his first four NFL seasons for the Baltimore Ravens.

Stone had an interception return for a TD during the third quarter of the 2024 NFL Week 15 game against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium. Stone’s interception was his third of the season. His pick-six was the first of his NFL career.

Stone was carted off the field with a shin injury last season during the Bengals’ win in Cleveland in NFL Week 7. Stone collided with fellow defensive back Vonn Bell in pursuit of a pass by Browns quarterback Jameis Winston.
