Although she is still figuring out what she wants to do next, King, who grew up in Chicago, added “it’s time to be closer to my family and friends in Illinois.” She said she also plans on teaching Pilates during her “free agency.”

“As someone who writes about others for a living, I’m having a hard time finding the right words for me. It was a difficult decision as the Tri-State has given me so many wonderful memories and friendships,” King wrote.

“Thank you to my bosses and coworkers at FOX19 for believing in me. I’m honored to go out with a couple of Emmy nominations. And thank you all for welcoming me into this community and allowing me to share your stories. It was the honor of a lifetime,” she continued.

King, who has spent more than 13 years in news and sports, joined the Fox 19 team in October 2019 after spending five years as a sports anchor, reporter and weekend anchor at Fox 57 (WACH-TV) in Columbia, South Carolina, per her LinkedIn profile.

King has also worked as a sports anchor and reporter at Fox 55 (WFFT-TV) in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Fox 6 Now (WITI-TV) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She also freelanced at the Big Ten Network.
