The Ohio State football team is gearing up for what might be another championship run in 2026. The Buckeyes have as much talent as anyone in the country and will be one of the odds-on favorites to hoist the CFP trophy on January 25. However, Ryan Day and the coaching staff are in the midst of ensuring OSU will stay competitive not only this year but in years to come. They currently have the No. 8-ranked class in the 247Sports composite team rankings, with just 11 players committed and room to add plenty more.
One player who has been deemed a must-get for Ohio State is five-star running back David Gabriel Georges. The Chattanooga, Tennessee native is currently ranked as the No. 2 running back in the country, but that might change after his most recent 40-yard time was recorded at 4.38. Making that time even more impressive is the fact that Georges is already built like a grown man coming in at 6 feet and 205 pounds. That 40 time would have put the high schooler fourth overall at this year’s NFL combine.
Georges will make four official visits in the next month or so to Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, and Ole Miss. However, it is the Buckeyes and Vols who seem to have the inside track. OSU has been talked about the most, but Georges himself has said he is going to take a long, hard look at all four schools and make the best decision for himself.
The Buckeyes will have the first opportunity to make a great impression when Georges makes his official stop in Columbus on May 29.
