Eastern Stark students heading back to the classroom

Louisville City Schools welcomed some of the Leopards back to the classroom on Aug. 19, with children in first through fifth grade, along with sixth graders and ninth graders in school for the first time this school year.

All students in grades one through 12 will be in class on Aug. 20, with kindergarten students having a staggered first day on either Aug. 20 or Aug. 21.

The district welcomed a number of employees this year, including several teachers. New this term are Alexis Pochubay, art teacher at Louisville Elementary and North Nimishillen Elementary; Emma Egli, third grade math intervention specialist at Louisville Elementary; Kenzie Votaw, fifth grade math intervention specialist at Louisville Elementary; Chelsee Hamsher, preschool teacher at North Nimishillen; Lauren Cyphert, sixth grade science at Louisville Middle School; Rachel Adkins, eighth grade English/Language Arts at Louisville Middle; Jeremiah Sanders, eighth grade math intervention specialist at Louisville Middle School; and Kylie Arner, art at Louisville High School.

The district also hired nutrition services staff members Taylor Croston and Tammy Tokos.

Alliance City Schools has its first day of classes on Aug. 20, and Sebring Local Schools welcomes back its students on Aug. 21. Marlington Local Schools and West Branch Local Schools don’t return to the classroom until after Labor Day.
