Dirty sodas available at the Bloom and Fizz Boutique in downtown Mansfield

Downtown Mansfield has rarely been more abustle.

That’s why Janelle Blake expanded her shop and renamed it “Bloom and Fizz Boutique.”

She calls it a “woman’s boutique and dirty soda bar.”

“Business has been good,” Blake said.

She opened the store in 2021 as Bloom Boutique.

“We started in a small little shop over at my hair salon,” Blake said.

She quickly outgrew the space and moved to her new location at 48 Park Avenue West in Mansfield.

“Effortless styles,” is how she describes the selection. “Your everyday wear and kind of modern.”

The shop has faithful customers from Richland County as well as the entire region.

“We have people from Ashland and from Bucyrus,” Blake said. “And we do online ordering, so we have people ordering from North Carolina and Texas and all throughout the United States.”

Dirty soda trend arrives in Richland County

Janelle Blake owns the boutique with her husband, Kenney Blake.

This autumn, she welcomed her son, Dylan Wade, and daughter-in-law, Liz Wade, to the ownership group — the Wades will run Fizz while she operates Bloom.

“I was looking for a second business to put in here to kind of draw more people,” Blake said.

Earlier this year, she noticed online that the “dirty soda” trend has become popular in other states, so she wanted to bring the experience to Mansfield.

The non-alcoholic soft drinks are made with a base soda pop, flavored syrup, fruit juice and a creamer.

“We have practiced at our house,” Blake said. “We tasted everything and said, ‘Oh, we don’t like that, we do like that,’ and so we came up with the menu, all of us together.”

Customers don’t have to stick to the menu — they can mix-and-match flavors to make their own beverage.

“You can create your own, it’s unlimited,” Blake said. “We have sugar-free options, we have energy drinks, we have lemonades, we have Boba (tea), so we have something for everybody.”

Bloom and Fizz Boutique is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
