Danville man dies in one-vehicle crash in Loudonville

A 57-year-old Daville man was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle crash that occurred around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Loudonville.

Travis D. Jones was driving a 2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty, towing a 2019 Goose Neck Trailer, on Banks Avenue when he failed to stop at the intersecton of state Route 39, entered a yard and struck a creek embankment, according to a news release from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.

Jones had just loaded items on the truck at a business in the Loudonville Industrial Park and was traveling southbound on Banks Avenue, according to the release, which notes he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

An autopsy is expected to be ordered by Holmes County Coroner Dr. Leon Miller. Investigators are still determining whether medical issues and or any other impairment played a role in the crash, according to the release.

Agencies assisting at the scene were Western Holmes Fire and EMS and Loudonville Police, Fire and EMS.

The crash remains under investigation.
