Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor provided an update on wide receiver Jermaine Burton and safety Daijahn Anthony following the team’s final preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts Aug. 23.
Burton is dealing with a knee injury and Anthony injured his hamstring. Taylor didn’t give a timeline for a return for either player.

The Bengals open the regular season at the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 7.
Depending on the severity of Anthony’s injury, it could force the Bengals to make a move at safety as they are thin at the position from a depth standpoint. This could also lead to PJ Jules making the team if Anthony is going to miss significant time.
Taylor also provided an update on the status of linebacker Demetrius Knight who didn’t practice on Thursday, saying it was precautionary.
Over the next three days, the Bengals will finalize their roster and part of the process is monitoring the waiver wire. Cincinnati must cut its roster to 53 players by 4 p.m. on Aug. 26.
