Crestview, Lucas, Crestline win league track and field championships

NEW LONDON — The Crestview Cougars went back-to-back.

The girls team won the Firelands Conference team championship for the second straight year with 186 points finishing ahead of South Central’s 158.

For the girls, South Central’s Autumn Fry won the 100-meter dash with a 13.11.

Crestview’s Bella Grant won the 400-meter dash with a 1:03.07 and teammate Alina Durbin was a double-winner in the 1,600 (5:38.47) and the 3,200 (12:22.08). Olivia Grant won the 300-meter hurdles in 49.29 for the Cougars.

The Crestview quartet of Devon Hickey, Tori Kidney, Taylor Weaver and Logan Moore won the 4×100-meter relay with a 52.18.

South Central’s Emily Lamoreaux won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.50.

In the field events, South Central’s Kenlea Blair won the shot put with a throw of 34-09 while teammate Autumn Fry won the discus with a 126-05. Fellow Trojan Lauren Ingram won the girls high jump with a leap of 4-10 and the long jump with a 15-11.

New London’s Raeann Mitchell won the pole vault competition clearing 10-6.

Western Reserve won the boys team championship by a wide 132-103 margin over Mapleton. Crestview was third with 11 points.

Plymouth’s Izaya Reynolds won the 200-meter dash with a 23.34 and the 400-meter dash with a 51.02 to give him a solid double-championship day individually. Reynolds joined Isaiah Miller, Jeric Tackett and Trevor Putt on the winning 4×200-meter relay team that posted a 1:33.66 and joined Miller, Tackett and Cainan Kilgore on the winning 4×400-meter relay team that clocked a 3:36.14 to give Reynolds four FC championships on the day.

Mapleton’s Braylon Goon took home the title in the 800 with a 1:55.86, the 1,600 with a 4:34.52 and the 3,200 with a 10:03.23 to absolutely dominate the distance races.

Crestview’s Max Durbin had a meet to remember winning the 100-meter hurdles with a 15.73 and the 300-meter hurdles with a 40.27. He also won the long jump flying 21-03.75 to win it by two inches.

New London’s Garret Carruthers, Fritz McCaully, Carter Hicks and Ryan Twining won the 4×800-meter relay with an 8:36.42.

In the field events, Crestview’s Lane Robinson won the high jump clearing 6-feet for the title. New London’s Jayden BRacket won the pole vault clearing 12-feet.

Lucas Cubs, Crestline Bulldogs win Mid-Buckeye Conference titles

On Thursday, May 14, the Lucas Cubs took home the boys Mid-Buckeye Conference team championship with 119 team points.

Lucas’ Joey Desterhaft had a big day winning the 200-meter dash with a 23.04, the 110-meter hurdles with a 15.43, the 300-meter hurdles with a 39.78 and won the long jump with a leap of 22-02 to be a quadruple champion.

Not to be outdone, teammate Ray Lewis won the 800-meter run with a 2:02.07, the 1,600-meter run with a 4:30.83 and the 3,200-meter run with a 10:57.91 to dominate the distance races and win three individual titles.

Mason Guegold won the 400-meter dash with a 53.33 and the pole vault competition with a leap of 11-feet.

The Lucas quartet of Liam Hicks, Owen Guegold, Ian Culler and Bentley Rannigan won the 4×100-meter relay with a 48.89.

Crestline’s Carmello Hudson won the 100-meter dash with a 11.63

The Crestline quartet of Korey Snyder, David Spackey, Grady Briggs and Adam Burton won the 4×200-meter relay with a 1:47.07.

The Mansfield Christian quartet of Adam Them, Landin Cyphers, Josiah Schleusener and Isaiah Krause won the 4×400-meter relay with a 3:46.59. Them, Schleusener and Cyphers teamed up with David Delorenzo to win the 4×800-meter relay with a 9:31.13.

In the field events, Lucas’ Brady Guegold won the shot put with a throw of 37-09.50 and the discus with a 117-11. Teammate Tim Daley won the high jump with a leap of 5-10.

Crestline took home the girls team championship with 96 points finishing just ahead of Lucas with 75.

Crestline’s Jocelyn Noblit won the 100-meter dash in 13.42 and the 400-meter dash in 1:03.93. Teammate Lillian Mills won the 800-meter run with a 2:50.84 and Addison Hill won the 100-meter hurdles with an 18.02.

The Crestline quartet of Haylee Seymour, Addison Hill, Kenzie Schmidt and Faith Songer won the 4×200-meter relay with a 2:02.34 and the quartet of Anna Erwin, Schmidt, Mills and Nevaeh Hill won the 4×800-relay with a 12:23.00.

Lucas’ Riley Trumpower had a nice day winning the 200-meter dash in 27.12, the 300 hurdles with a 48.28 and the long jump with a leap of 15-11.75 to be a triple winner. Teammate Katie Griffey won the shot put (33-09.50) and the discus (123-04). She set the school record again in the discus for the third time this season.

Lucas’ Leah Case won the high jump with a leap of 4-10 while teammate Olivia Strassell won the pole vault clearing 7-feet.

Mansfield Christian’s Riley Patrick doubled up with a win in the 1,600 (5:16.73) and the 3,200 (11:33.70) to take home the distance crowns. The Mansfield Christian quartet of Lacy Defrancisco, Natalie Ricker, Lydia Roggio and Rylynn Neal won the 4×100-meter relay with a 55.85 and the quartet of Michelle Hope, Neal, Rzeppa and Patrick won the 4×400-meter relay with a 4:47.97.
