Clinic to expunge eligible juvenile records returns to Summit County on July 12

Summit County is hosting another Juvenile Expungement Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 12, at the Summit County Juvenile Court at 650 Dan St. in Akron.

The clinic is for people with juvenile records in Summit County. The records must be eligible for expungement or sealing, according to a news release.

“Juvenile records are not automatically sealed at the age of 18,” the news release explained. “Unless sealed, juvenile records may appear on background checks for employment or housing. This event does not require an appointment or registration. There is no fee for filing an application to seal, and free parking is available at the Court.”

The event is hosted by Summit County’s Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich, Sheriff Kandy Fatheree, Juvenile Judge Linda Teodosio and Summit Legal Defenders.
