A Louisville High student will be among the presenters during the TEDxHuntingValley talk Aug. 22 at Gund Auditorium at University School in Cleveland.
Twelve speakers — six adults and six high school students — will discuss the theme “The Invisible Engine: The Forces We Forget.”
Gage Martin, a senior at Louisville, is a member of the Ohio Department of Health Teen Wellness Team. He will take the stage at 2:25 p.m.
This the first independent community TEDx open to the public since June 2015.
Teens Charlie Martin and Jack Nelson applied to TED for a license and created this upcoming event.
The teens will take the same stage as well-known adults, including Nic Barlage, CEO of Cleveland Cavaliers &Rock Entertainment Group, and Laila Edwards, Olympic hockey gold medalist.
Six high school students were chosen based on the strength of a written idea.
Tickets are $15 per session or $30 for the day and can be purchased at tedxhuntingvalley.com/tickets. Parking is free.
