A cool start May 15 will give way to a warming trend, with summer-like heat building over the weekend and into next week.
Morning temperatures in the 30s and 40s will rise into the upper 60s and low 70s Friday afternoon, with just a slight chance for a passing shower.
Warmer, more humid air moves in over the weekend, bringing highs in the low 80s Saturday along with scattered thunderstorms, some of which could be strong. A few lingering showers are possible early Sunday.
By Sunday, the real heat begins to build, with highs climbing into the mid to upper 80s.
Next week, temperatures are expected to push into the upper 80s and low 90s.
Another round of storms arrives with a cold front sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday, followed by a slight cooldown.
