After a day of damaging storms swept through, the region isn’t getting much of a break.
Additional rounds of thunderstorms are expected Wednesday, Aug. 12, across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
A flood watch remains in effect through the evening, and residents are urged to be cautious around flooded roads and low-lying areas.
Forecasters say rainfall totals of 4 to 6 inches are possible in isolated areas where storms repeatedly move over the same locations. The highest flood risk will be in areas that see multiple rounds of thunderstorms through the day.
The unsettled pattern will continue through Friday with additional chances for showers and thunderstorms, although there will be breaks in the rain.
How much rain fell Tuesday?
Just above half an inch of rain was recorded in Cincinnati on Tuesday. So far in August, the region has seen 2.44 inches. The normal value is 1.32 inches, according to National Weather Service records.
