Cincinnati Bearcats unveil new official Nike uniforms on 'New Heights' podcast with Kelces

A couple of future NFL Hall of Famers who played Cincinnati Bearcats football unveiled their new Nike uniforms Wednesday, July 2. Jason and Travis Kelce hosted their “New Heights” podcast that featured Travis Kelce’s dates with Taylor Swift in Nashville, an interview with F1 movie star Brad Pitt and a snippet of Jason Kelce displaying his old UC No. 60 on the show with the new official logos. Jason Kelce claimed they were the first ones to see the new look.

UC switched from Adidas to Nike in mid-May 2023 under their agreement with BSN Sports. This current deal with Nike was announced in November of 2023 taking effect July 2025 through the end of 2029.

The biggest change is the white numerals on black are outlined in red. Likewise, the white unis feature black numerals outlined in red. Both brothers described the look as “retro”.

“I dig the outline,” Jason Kelce said. “I’m a fan. Sometimes the colleges go with a little bit too much.”

Travis Kelce forgot his brother was No. 60 in college (Travis was No. 18) then mentioned in no uncertain terms how the new jerseys would look good in August when the Bearcats were taking care of business in Arrowhead against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Jason called them out saying, “The corn down by the river!”

Soon after the Kelce announcement on “New Heights” the University of Cincinnati released their official video.

Cincinnati Bearcats have had similar looks

The Bearcats also had their numbers outlined in red in some Rick Minter seasons, the Mark Dantonio years and some of Brian Kelly’s teams.

Travis mentioned how his brother had lost his “tush push” offensive lineman look causing Jason to respond that he looked like a long snapper in his old number.

“I need a big ol’ keg (belly) on the waist and the long hair,” Travis Kelce said.

Only black and white jerseys were revealed early on, Then later in the morning the Bearcats revealed their red jerseys with white numerals and a black outline.

More UC vs. Nebraska talk

Travis Kelce talked on the upcoming matchup at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium Aug. 28 declaring the Bearcats were very confident. But, he does realize the likely color of the stadium will be red.

“We’re in Nebraska country out there,” he said. “The Cornhuskers travel pretty well. I know a lot of people that are Chiefs fans. It’s three hours from Omaha. We’re going to need to travel too ‘Cats (as he claps). We’re going to need people in the stands so it doesn’t feel too crazy for our boys on the field.”

Said Jason Kelce, “It’s going to be ruckus, but that just brings the energy. Home, away, who gives a ****, the Bearcats are ******* coming!”

The Cincinnati Bearcats open the season in Kansas City against Nebraska at 9 p.m. (Eastern) on ESPN Aug. 28.
