Chef-O-Nette is coming back, serving up diner classics at its Upper Arlington spot.
On June 20, the restaurant will be back to business at 2090 Tremont Ctr. The eatery has been serving Columbus since 1955, when it opened as a “new, ultramodern” dining experience.
New owner Mike Purdum, founder of Old Bag of Nails, bought the business from longtime owner Harlan Howard in February 2024. He has since been renovating the space.
“We are thinking of it as a refresh,” said Abigail Stellern, the associate vice president of strategy and growth for Old Bag of Nails.
Seats have been reupholstered, the dining counter has been refreshed and the bathrooms have been renovated to be ADA accessible.
The biggest changes, Stellern said, are to the back of the house.
The restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day of the week except Tuesdays. Because it closes early, the space is available for private events and rentals in the evenings.
