Charlie Woods, the son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, shot a 5-over 76 round at the Scarlet course at the Ohio State University Golf Club, one of 19 final qualifying sites for the 2026 U.S. Amateur Golf Championship.
After 18 holes of stroke play, the top 13 golfers (with two alternates) advance to the U.S. Amateur, held from August 10 to 16 at the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. At the time of his finish, Woods’ score was tied for 57th place, with more than 15 golfers scoring a better round.
Woods had a double bogey on the sixth hole of the Scarlet course that pushed his score to a 40 on the front nine. After bogeys on holes No. 16 and 17, Woods birdied the par-4 18th hole to shoot 1 over on the back half.
Woods, 17, committed in February 2026 to play collegiate golf for Florida State University. He ranks No. 174 on the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
On June 1, Woods shot a 3 under 68 at Heathrow Country Club in Florida and won a playoff to qualify for the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur, set for July 20-25 at Saucon Valley in Pennsylvania. He played in each of the last two Junior Amateurs, missing the cut in both.
