A central Ohio man faces criminal charges after prosecutors alleged in court documents that he raped a child in Pataskala and shared child pornography, court records show.
Kevin D. Kauff, 25, faces one count of rape in Licking County Common Pleas Court, records show. Deputies arrested him June 13, and a judge set a $2 million bond on June 15.
It’s unclear where Kauff lives – a Licking County Sheriff’s Office news release states he is from Jamestown, while court records show him having a Columbus address.
In a criminal complaint, police allege Kauff engaged in sexual conduct with a child and told an undercover FBI agent that he allowed another person to engage sexually with the child.
Police allege Kauff then sent a video to the agents of someone having sex with a child. In the complaint, police allege that evidence shows the video was made around June 11 in Pataskala and that the child in the video is the same one.
Kauff is next scheduled to appear in court June 18 for a preliminary hearing, records show.
Police arrested him in Greene County on suspicion of rape before taking him to Licking County.
A release states the investigation of the case remains ongoing and that Kauff may face additional charges.
