CANTON – The Rotary Club of Canton have announced Pizza Madness!, a fundraiser and contest with free admission on March 29.
The event will run noon to 3 p.m. at the McKinley Bulldog Activity Center, 711 Third St. NW.
The family-friendly event invites the community to sample pizza from several local restaurants while supporting the Canton Rotary’s Charitable Fund. According to longtime Rotary member Rick Taylor, co-owner of Kozmo’s Grille, proceeds from the event will benefit local charities, school programs and Rotary International projects.
Participating restaurants to date include Pizza Oven, Italo’s, Burrata Italian Kitchen, Jerzee’s Grille, Muskellunge Brewing Company, Zavarelli’s Pizza Shop and Papa Johns.
Admission is free, and guests can purchase four pizza sampling tickets for $5, making the event an affordable outing for families.
In addition to tastings, the afternoon will feature several activities for children and teens, including a soccer goal kicking contest, a free-throw shooting contest and a toy basketball hoop for younger children. Rotary member and former Taggarts and Kennedy’s Bar-B-Que owner Ernie Schott will provide Taggarts gift cards as prizes for participants.
The Stark County YMCA will also provide bounce houses and an obstacle course for children at no charge.
As part of the community focus of the event, local nonprofit organizations have been invited to set up informational tables to promote their missions at no cost.
