CANTON ‒ The Stark County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian who died the night of May 4 after being hit by an SUV in the 2900 block of Market Avenue N.
A 2010 Dodge Journey was traveling northbound in the center lane at 11:14 p.m. when it struck 65-year-old Canton resident Ricky Careway, who was walking eastbound across the street, police said.
Careway was taken to a local hospital where he died, police said.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured. Police said the driver was not impaired and not at fault.
