The Cleveland Browns have made a small move to their 90-man roster as they trek into another week of OTAs.
While cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson was set to join the team, he has been waived instead with a failed physical designation. Now, the Browns have pivoted and signed another cornerback to fill Nicholson’s roster spot. Tyron Herring will now join the Browns as they continue into OTAs, and with mandatory minicamp right around the corner.
What Herring brings to the Browns
Originally signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Delaware after the 2025 NFL Draft, Herring spent time on their practice squad a year ago. This was not the only practice squad Herring found himself on, however, also landing with the New England Patriots in 2025 as well.
While the Browns have a depth issue at cornerback, opening up a chance for Herring to make a run at a roster spot, he still faces an uphill battle to make the final 53-man roster. However, landing on Cleveland’s practice squad at the end of training camp could be in the stars for Herring.
