CLEVELAND ― Shedeur Sanders started as the Browns played host to the Buffalo Bills in the second preseason game.
Sanders remains in a battle with Deshaun Watson for the starting quarterback job when the Browns open the regular season. However, the appearance against Buffalo may be his final chance to make an argument for him to be the starter Sept. 13 in Jacksonville.
The second-year pro was scheduled to play the first half against the Bills, as Watson had done in the preseason opener at Chicago. Watson was scheduled to come in for the third quarter.
