Cleveland Browns kicker Andre Szmyt has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
This comes after drilling a game-winning 55-yard field goal to boost the Browns over the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers in Week 3. This is just another notch in the belt for Szmyt, who is looking for redemption and to prove to the Browns he is the answer to their long-term kicking woes.

Szmyt, who famously missed a go-ahead chip shot in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, was seemingly on the chopping block. He was on blast all week on social media as fans were calling for him to be released following his Week 1 woes. However, the Browns stuck by him and gave him a chance to redeem himself.
Thus far, he has paid them back.
Moving on to the Detroit Lions, the Browns may just need to lean heavily on Szmyt to finish off some drives for them.
