Browns' final trade details revealed after sending Myles Garrett to LA

The Cleveland Browns have traded reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett, fresh off a year where he reset the NFL sack record. The rumored return was 2024 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse, a 2027 NFL Draft first round pick, “and more.”

Now, that “and more” has been defined, the trade has officially been finalized between the Browns and the Los Angeles Rams. Here is the full breakdown of the blockbuster deal that has sent the NFL and Browns Twitter reeling:

The Browns now have to reel from trading away a future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer, the best defensive player in the NFL, and a franchise cornerstone. Getting back a young Pro Bowler on a rookie contract in Jared Verse is a nice touch, who will immediately add talent to the void left by Garrett. However, there is no replacing a player of Garrett’s magnitude.

Verse will now start opposite Alex Wright, who just signed a contract extension, along the Browns’ defensive line. Isaiah McGuire rounds out the room that lacks much depth behind these three names. This could be a position we could see another player added to around cutdown day off the waiver wire.
