Browns address massive offensive holes in new mock draft

Mock drafts will continue to fly off the walls as we get closer to the NFL Draft. And for the Cleveland Browns, who have two first round picks, the possibilities are endless.

Another mock draft was completed by the guys on the Daft on Draft podcast this week as well, as more intel continues to pour in closer to the draft as well. So, who did the Browns select in this mock draft?

They first negotiated a trade down from the sixth overall pick. However, the Dallas Cowboys, who have an additional first round pick were not willing to come up. Instead, they swapped one spot with the Washington Commanders, who made the move to prevent the likes of the New Orleans Saints or Kansas City Chiefs from leapfrogging them for running back Jeremiyah Love out of Notre Dame.

So, now back on the clock with the seventh overall pick, who did the Browns select?

Browns take young and athletic offensive tackle

Georgia’s Monroe Freeling became the pick for the Browns after moving down one spot. Young, long, athletic, and a prototypical left tackle, Freeling fills not only an immediate need at a glaring hole on the roster, but gives the Browns an upside shot on a player whose best football is still ahead of him as well.

While the Browns would love to trade back further than just one spot to continue to add as many young and cheap contracts as possible to the roster, that did not play out in this scenario.

Coming back on the clock with the 24th overall pick, then, the Browns addressed the wide receiver position. They selected Indiana’s Omar Cooper Jr. to infuse young talent into a wide receiver room that desperately needed it.
