UNION TOWNSHIP – A pole barn at 1719 Roxford Church Road SE between Sherrodsville and Dennison was destroyed by fire on the afternoon of July 22.
The fire was reported to the 911 dispatch center at around 4:32 p.m.
When crews arrived on scene, the building was fully engulfed in flames, according to Buddy Miller, chief of the Sherrodsville Volunteer Fire Department. Heavy smoke was coming from the structure.
It was used to house the homeowner’s vehicles and equipment. They were all destroyed in the fire.
The blaze melted some of the siding on the nearby residence, Miller said.
Crews had the fire under control within an hour. No one was injured.
Assisting at the scene were firefighters from Dennison, Uhrichsville, Dellroy and Tuscarawas.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Miller said there was nothing suspicious about it.
