Sebring football’s impact players
Obviously, when you talk about leaders, it all begins with Sebring senior quarterback Zach Todd, a three-year starter who threw for more than 1,300 yards last season and earned All-Northern 8 Conference honors. Five Northern 8 Conference quarterbacks earned All-Northern 8 laurels last season but three graduated and Todd will be one of the top returning signal-callers in the league. … Sebring returns one of the most experienced teams in the league with eight of its nine seniors having started for multiple years. … Leading the defense for Sebring is standout senior DE-OLB Emett Sheen, a veteran returnee and physical player.
What’s new with Sebring football in 2026
“Josiah Bevins is a three-year center and Emett Sheen has been starting at the hybrid tight end and Tony Baddeley, who has played running back for us, will swing between offensive line and running back, so those are some key guys, and Tony will play linebacker for us,” said Sebring head coach Anthony Agresta. “The two twins, Tyler and Logan Culp, have been really good for us and Damien Laney is going to be a contributor for us on the defensive line. Konner Leeland handles all of our kicking responsibilities.” … For the first time in the history of the Northern 8 Conference the league will have nine members, including Danbury Lakeside, Southington Chalker, Kennedy Catholic (Pa.), Holgate, Sandusky St. Mary Central Catholic, Fremont St. Joseph’s Central, Stryker, Windham, Plymouth and Sebring. Windham and Kennedy Catholic are officially new members this season. Plymouth just began the process of joining the league this month and recently was added to Sebring’s schedule in Week 5. Cardinal Stritch is a member but dropped out this year due to low numbers. Additionally for the first time, the Northern 8, which was predominantly compromised of schools from northwest Ohio, will have four schools from the northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania areas. Those schools include Sebring, Chalker and Windham from Ohio and Kennedy Catholic in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. … St. Mary Central Catholic is the defending champion after defeating Chalker 34-20 for the crown last fall.“They’re the team to beat,” said Agresta.
Sebring football’s outlook
Sebring has a veteran team with nine seniors and looks to make major strides during the 2026 season. This year’s senior class is the first one to have played eight-man football throughout their entire four-year high school careers.“Seven of the nine kids (seniors) have been in the program for four years,” said head coach Anthony Agresta. “It is more experience than we’ve ever had.” … The Trojans should be especially strong through the air with the veteran QB Zach Todd at the controls for a third consecutive season. He has passed for more than 2,400 yards combined in his prior two years as the starter. “He (Todd) will have Blake Hunter, who was a big-play receiver for us last year,” said Agresta. “And Konner Leeland is a small guy and he’ll play at the other side. He’s a guy the other team doesn’t prepare for and he ends up making some big plays. Those will be his two leading targets. “(In the backfield) it’s going to be running back by committee, so Blake Hunter, Logan Culp and potentially Tony Baddeley will be getting reps back there,” added the Sebring coach. … A key for the Trojans will be improvement on defense. The team surrendered more than 40 points in five of their contests last season, but with many starters returning, look for that number to drop in 2026. “Defense has been a struggle for us in 8-man since I’ve been here and it’s my focus as a coach,” observed Agresta. “We don’t paint them any glossy pictures, if we don’t get better defensively we’re not going to win, so that has been our focus.” … The coach calls Sheen the leader on defense. “He’s our strongest, most physical player and he likes the contact,” Agresta said. “He’ll be our left side defensive end and outside linebacker. … He wants to play physical and is a strong kid.” … The Trojans kick off the 2026 campaign Friday, Aug. 21 when they host Kennedy Catholic. It’s one of the teams the Trojans defeated last season. “It (8-man football) is growing and more teams are inquiring every year, said the Sebring coach. “I’m just waiting for that domino effect to happen (when more teams opt for 8-man football).”
