The Cincinnati Bengals are one of the biggest underdogs of the season as they go into the Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions.
What started as an 8.5-point spread favoring the Lions over the Bengals has ballooned all the way up to a 10.5-point spread at most books before kickoff.
It’s not exactly hard to see why, either. The Bengals have lost their last two games by a combined score of 76-13 since the Joe Burrow injury. They don’t just look lost, Ja’Marr Chase had to call out his guys for a lack of fire.

The Lions, meanwhile, have won three in a row, including wins of 52-21 and 34-10. Jared Goff has completed 73.8 percent of his passes with nine scores, the ground game averages 4.7 yards per carry and the defense has 14 sacks already.
Normally, when a spread gets this big, one might suggest rolling with a team like the Bengals. But until these specific Bengals show some sign of fight, it’s a no-go.
