Bengals RB Chase Brown falling underrated around NFL…for now

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown isn’t getting a ton of love outside of the Tri-State area ahead of the 2025 season.

Brown’s first season as the primary back in Joe Burrow’s offense was good enough to guarantee the Bengals didn’t go out and get him some competition.

But Brown will need to prove himself to the national audience by building on the early successes.

ESPN’s Jermey Fowler did his annual poll of executives, coaches and scouts and ranked the top 10 running backs in the NFL by point totals. Brown didn’t make the list.

Brown didn’t just miss the list, either. He also wasn’t in the “honorable mention” or “also receiving votes” section, putting him outside the top 20ish names. Making it sting all the more was former Bengals running back Joe Mixon sitting at No. 9.

The good news for Brown? He tallied 990 yards and seven scores on a 4.3 average last year and caught 54 passes with four more scores as a receiver over 16 games, setting himself up for a big 2025 while Samaje Perine and/or Zack Moss merely support his feature-back efforts.
