It isn’t all bad news for the Cincinnati Bengals as the team reports to training camp.
While contract extension drama makes the big splashes, the Bengals at least got some good news on the injury front as players got in the building, too.
On the topic of former first-round pick Dax Hill, he’s been cleared for individual drills and on track for a Week 1 return.
“That’s the plan,” Hill said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “They’ll ease me into things once everyone is back. No rush.It seems like I’ll be able to perform. We’ll see how training camp goes.”

Hill tore his ACL in the fifth game of last season after moving to cornerback and showing some serious promise there.
Now, Hill is one of a trio of younger cornerbacks the Bengals are leaning on as Al Golden takes over the unit, the others being Cam Taylor-Britt and DJ Turner.
Golden will no doubt use Hill’s versatility to at inside corner and safety, too, but the outside corner spot was too promising to ignore last year after some shuffling. So far, so good for Hill as camp starts.
