The Cincinnati Bengals have been mentioned alongside Baltimore Ravens free agent DeAndre Hopkins often this offseason.
Hopkins commented on Burrow and the Bengals recently, confirming a borderline conspiracy theory among the fanbase that he wanted to sign in Cincinnati.
It’s a connection still getting national attention, with Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox writing recently that it’s the one move the Bengals must still make this offseason.
Knox wrote the following: “Wide receiver isn’t a glaring need for the Cincinnati Bengals, who have Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Andrei Iosivas at the top of the depth chart. However, the Bengals lack dependable depth behind those three, and veteran DeAndre Hopkins looms as a logical addition.”
Funnily enough, the Bengals do have a bit of a problem behind Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Last year, Andrei Iosivas caught just 33 of 58 targets, a similar line to his 2024 season (36 of 61). But he regressed from six touchdowns in 2024 to just two in 2025.
Long story short, Iosivas hasn’t fully morphed into the third wideout some thought he might become. The Bengals said a lot on the topic when they drafted Colbie Young this year.
Young and other names on the depth chart are developmental only, so if the all-in Bengals really want to push Iosivas, actually going after Hopkins might make some sense.
This wouldn’t make or break the offseason for the Bengals, but at this point, it wouldn’t be a shocker, either.
