The Cincinnati Bengals surprised on Friday ahead of Week 5 by getting active on the waiver wire.
There, the Bengals announced they claimed defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers.
In a corresponding move, the Bengals waived Howard Cross.

Cross was a popular undrafted free agent signing by the Bengals and worked his way into a roster spot, but was inactive for three of the games this season.
Jefferson, a fourth-round pick out of LSU in 2024, was let go by Jacksonville at final cuts in August before joining the 49ers.
The Bengals desperately need help on the interior defensive line, where recent draft pick McKinnley Jackson has had a hard time being active on gamedays. TJ Slaton and Mike Pennel are newcomers attempting to help along BJ Hill and former second-rounder Kris Jenkins Jr. at one of the weaker spots on the roster.
