Battelle is giving out $900,000 in grants for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning in classrooms across Ohio.
The 194 approved grants will support STEM-based educational projects in 165 public schools in 68 counties.
Awarded classrooms will receive grants of up to $5,000.
“These grants empower Ohio educators to create dynamic learning environments where students develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for tomorrow’s challenges,” Wes Hall, Battelle’s senior vice president of philanthropy and education, said in the release.
The grants follow a previous $1.1 million investment Battelle awarded to the YMCA of Central Ohio for STEM initiatives.
The program fosters the growth of the Ohio STEM Learning Network as a public-private partnership between Battelle and the state of Ohio. Educators interested in future awards or support for STEM education from the network can sign up online.
