Athletes from St. Thomas Aquinas and Minerva high schools won the voting for the Stark County High School Athlete of the Week for May 18-24.
Ariana Nelson of Aquinas is the girls winner and Rowen Hoffee of Minerva wins for the boys. Nelson, who plays softball, received 48.39% of the votes cast. Hoffee, a baseball player, received 67.02% of the votes cast.
A total of 23,197 votes were cast overall.

Ariana Nelson, St. Thomas Aquinas softball
Drove in five runs on two singles, one double and one triple in addition to stealing a base and scoring four runs in a win over Steubenville Catholic Central.
Rowen Hoffee, Minerva track and field
Won the 800 (2:00.70) and 1,600 (4:24.13), ran on Minerva’s winning 3,200 relay and helped the 1,600 relay to a runner-up finish at the St. Clairsville Division III district meet, leading the Lions to the team title.
