A 19-year-old Akron man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred Oct. 30 at a bar near Kent State University, Kent Police Chief Nicholas Shearer said in a press release.
An officer patrolling downtown responded to Bar Lucci, located at 257 North Water Street, after hearing gunshots at about 11:30 p.m. Police learned while bar staff were clearing the bar, a fight erupted, during which an unknown man brandished a gun and fired a shot.
Bar patrons who fled the scene following the gunshot alerted officer, who was already in the process of responding.
More officers arrived at the scene and secured the area, but were unable to locate the suspect or any victims from the shooting, police said.
After an investigation, Jack Massie was arrested and charged with felonious assault. He is currently awaiting prosecution.
