Bill Brown Cross Country Invite
Lexington competes well in Todd Clark Invitational
Lexington senior Katya Prykhodko picked up her second individual win of the season at the Todd Clark Invitational on Saturday running an 18:47.90 to take first overall. Gabi Twedt was seventh with a 19:17.51 while Evalynn Adkins was 24th with a 20:16.17, Brailey Slone took 26th with a 20:17.79 and Adria Sharrock was 35th with a 20:32.54 to round out the scoring runners for Lex. Jenna Halfhill was 57th with a 21:20.82 and Brynn Bruner was 82nd with a 21:56.93 to round out the runners for Lady Lex. The team tied for first place with Hudson with 92 team points apiece.
In the boys race, Lexington senior Latrell Hughes was second overall in the boys race at the Todd Clark Invitational on Saturday running a 16:09.86 to lead the Minutemen to the team championship. Lincoln Rice was fourth with a 16:12.81 while Like Haring took 12th with a 16:27.09, Christian Estep was 14th with a 16:40.32 and Will Hooper was 15th with a 16:40.85 to round out the scoring runners for the Minutemen. John Bartone was 17th with a 16:43.01 and Drew Hooper was 25th with a 17:00.98 to round out the runners. Lexington won the meet with 47 team points. CVCA was second with 70.
Plymouth competes at Streaks Invitational
Morgan Follett led the Plymouth Big Red girls cross country team to a second-place finish as she took third individually with a time of 20:48.62 while Audrey Smith was 10th with a 23:23.24, Kristi Yeager was 16th with a 25:06.22, Anna Caughenbaugh was 21st with a 25:50.29 and Aly Lewis was 22nd with a 25:50.79.
For the boys, Carter Jester was 17th with a 20:27.96 while Weston Smith was 29th with a 22:13.15, Levi Foley was 34th with a 23:32.32 and Luke Kelbley was 41st with a 28:35.33.
Saturday, Sept. 13
Lexington has great showing at Boardman Spartan XC Invitational
The Lexington Minutemen cruised to the team title at the Boardman Spartan XC Invitational on Saturday in the Division II race. Lexington scored just 74 team points finishing well ahead of New Philadelphia in second with 198. Latrell Hughes took fourth place overall with a 16:16.0 while Lincoln Rice was seventh with a 16:24.8, Will Hooper was 17th with a 16:42.8, Like Haring with 20th with a 16:56.3 and John Bartone was 26th with a 17:10.2.
In the Division II girls race, Lexington’s Katya Prykhodko took second overall with a 19:10.00 while Brailey Slone was 14th with a 20:12.23, Gabi Twedt was 33rd with a 20:47.39, Evalynn Adkins was 40th with a 21:06.44 and Adira Sharrock was 72nd with a 22:03.34 to round out the scoring runners for Lady Lex. The team took fifth overall with 154 points.
Richland County runners have nice days at Galion Cross Country Festival
In the girls stripes division, Shelby’s Anna Will took fourth overall with a 19:42.5 while Jordyn Thauvette was 18th with a 21:48.4, Emma Mahek was 29th with a 22:38.8, Natalia Peters was 40th with a 23:40.5 and Kendall Bowman rounded out the scoring runners in 44th with a 23:56.5.
Clear Fork’s Katrina Neal had a great showing for the Colts in fifth place with a 19:43.9 while Raegan Sudol was 34th with a 23:13.2.
Mansfield Senior’s Tilia Ames was 26th with a 22:27.5.
In the girls roar division, Crestview’s Emmie Kemp was ninth overall with a 21:58.6 while Gracie Gallaway was 14th with a 22:22.7, Audrey Wolford was 16th with a 22:29.4, Laynie Kemp was 19th with a 22:55.0 and Alexandra Cutlip was 35th with a 24:40.6.
In the girls tiger division, Riley Patrick took second overall with a 19:44.2 while Lucas’ Riley Trumpwer was 12th with a 21:19.2.
In the boys stripes division, Shelby’s Blake Nixon was 18th overall with an 18:23.2 while Jake Frangella was 19th with an 18:26.7, Anthony Tackett was 25th with an 18:41.5, Sawyer Eshelman was 34th with a 19:10.4 and KC Cooke was 38th with a 19:17.5 to round out the scoring runners for the Whippets.
Clear Fork’s Peyton Freitag led the Colts in 33rd with an 18:58.5 while Tobin Amos was 40th with a 19:26.0.
Mansfield Senior’s Gavin Camak led the Tygers in 42nd with a 19:29.9.
In the boys roar division, Crestview’s Isaac McFarland took fourth overall with a 17:05.3 while Brandt Leidigh was 17th with an 18:28.3, Wyatt Love was 24th with an 18:52.2, Isaac Smith was 28th with a 19:10.3 and Logan Robinson was 30th with a 19:17.9 to round out the scoring runners for the Cougars.
In the boys tiger division, Lucas’ Ray Lewis was 10th overall with a 17:48.0. Mansfield Christian’s David Delorenzo was 23rd with an 18:46.7 and Josiah Schleusener was 24th with an 18:46.9.
Ontario competes in Dublin Jerome’s Celtic Clash
Ontario’s Ava Zehe took third overall with a 20:35.74 at the Dublin Jerome Celtic Clash. Teammate Kenzie Goodline was 32nd with a 22:31.19.
For the boys, Xavier Trent was the top finisher for the Warriors in 39th with a 16:29.06 with teammate Rylan Baker taking 107th with a 17:36.93.
Plymouth competes at Myron Cline Invitational in Lakota
Morgan Follett led the Plymouth Big Red with a solid day at the Myron Cline Invitation with a fourth-place finish in a time of 20:12.83. Teammate Audrey Smith was 12th overall with a 21:13.94.
For the boys, Weston Smith was 85th with a 20:24.37 while Trevor Furr was 96th with a 21:13.07.
Saturday, Sept. 6
Lexington Minutemen win Division II meet at Tiffin Carnival
The Lexington Minutemen cruised to a team championship in the Division II race at the Tiffin Carnival on Saturday with 68 team points.
Lincoln Rice led the Minutemen with a sixth-place finish in 15:51.5 while Latrell Hughes was ninth with a 15:58.4, John Bartone was 15th with a 16:20.3, Christian Estep was 18th with a 16:28.2 and Will Hooper was 20th with a 16:32.4 to round out the scoring runners for Lex. Luke Haring was 21st with a 16:32.6 and Drew Hooper was 27th with a 16:42.9 to round out the runners for the day.
The Ontario Warriors took 15th as a team with 433 points. Xavier Trent was the top runner for the Warriors taking 28th with a 16:44.6 while Rylan Baker was the No. 2 runner in 74th with a 17:32.3.
The Shelby Whippets took 28th a a team with 766 team points and were led by Blake Nixon in 123rd with an 18:20.8.
Lexington Lady Lex takes second at Tiffin Carnival
The Lexington Lady Lex was runner-up at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival with 113 team points. Katya Prykhodko was the top runner for Lex taking eighth with an 18:53.3 while Brailey Slone was 10th with a 19:07.7, Gabi Twedt was 24th with a 19:48.2, Evalynn Adkins was 35th with a 20:12.7 and Adria Sharrock was 42nd with a 20:25.8 to round out the scoring runners for Lex. Jenna Halfhill took 46th with a 20:31.2 and Brynn Bruner was 73rd with a 21:32.0 to add two drop scores.
The Shelby Whippets took 12th as a team with 365 points and were led by Anna Will in 13th with a 19:11.2. Jordyn Thauvette was 62nd with a 21:05.9 and Emma Mahek was 91st with a 22:06.8.
The Ontario Warriors were 24th as a team with 595 points. Ava Zehe led the team in 55th with a 20:48.6 while Kenzie Goodlin was 98th with a 22:11.0.
Seneca East’s Stars Stripes and Lights Meet produces positive results for Richland County runners
Mansfield Christian’s Riley Patrick found herself at the front of the pack yet again, this time in the girls Lights Division at Seneca East. She ran a blistering 19:11.70 to take first place overall. Teammate Leah Robinson was 66th with a 23:34.93. Lucas’ Riley Trumpower took 11th overall with a 20:49.18.
In the girls Stars Division, Crestview’s Alina Durbin was 30th overall with a 20:44.27 while Emmie Kemp was 39th with a 21:13.17.
In the girls Stripes Division, Plymouth’s Morgan Follett was eight overall with a 19:50.71 while teammate Audrey Smith was 42nd with a 21:51.76.
In the boys Stars Division, Crestview’s Isaac McFarland was 17th overall with a 17:08.56 while teammate Isaac Smith was 41st with a 17:57.16. Madison’s Evan Larsen was the top runner for the Rams taking 28th with a 17:29.71.
In the boys Lights Division, Mansfield Christian’s David De Lorenzo was 33rd with a 17:20.73 while Landin Cyphers took 52nd with an 18:00.65 and Josiah Schleusener was 77th with an 18:40.33.

Ashland Cross Country Invitational
MAL Reunion
Plymouth’s Morgan Follett finished third at the MAL Reunion cross country race with a 20:30.41 while teammate Audrey Smith was sixth with a 22:15.85 to help the Big Red take third overall as a team with 82 points. Kristi Yeager was 22nd with a 24: 57.10 while Anna Caughenbaugh was 28th with a 25:47.46 and Alyson Lewis was 39th with a 29:00.65.
For the Big Red boys, Cater Jester was the top finished in 48th with a 20:09.92.
Highland Fighting Scots Cross Country Invitational
Clear Fork’s Katrina Neal smashed her own cross country school record by running a 19:11.53 at the Highland Fighting Scots Invitational. She finished second overall while teammate Raegan Sudol was 14th with a 22:35.81, Callie New was 27th with a 23:58.28 and Eliyah Molina was 31st with a 24:19.00.
Chloe Jeffers was the top finisher for Madison in 38th with a 24:58.05.
In the boys race, Madison’s Evan Larsen was the top Richland County runner with an 11th-place finish in 17:44.16 while Jackson Brummett was 29th with a 19:02.91. The Rams finished ninth as a team with 194 points.
Clear Fork’s Tobin Amos was the top finisher for the Colts in 34th with a 19:29.97.
Tuesday, Aug. 26
Mansfield Christian’s Riley Patrick wins again, this time at Plymouth
Plymouth High School hosted its annual Bob James Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday with a two-mile race.
Mansfield Christian’s Riley Patrick walked away as the girls individual champion with a time of 12:13.52 while Plymouth’s Morgan Follett was second with a 12:52.81, Crestview’s Alina Durbin was fourth with a 13:25.15 and teammate Emmie Kemp was seventh with a 13:42. 31. Plymouth’s Audrey Smith rounded out the Top 10 runners in 10th with a 14:01.21.
In the boys race, Lucas’ Ray Lewis was third overall with a 10:50.70 while Crestview’s Isaac McFarland was fifth with a 10:57.66 and David De Lorenzo was sixth with an 11:18.03. Crestview’s Isaac Smith rounded out the Top 10 in 10th with an 11:28.55.
Saturday, Aug. 23
Clear Fork’s Katrina Neal breaks school record at Colonel Crawford’s Kip Kinn Invite
The Clear Fork Colts have a new cross country school record holder. Katrina Neal ran a 19:52.78 to take first overall at the Kip Kinn Invite on Saturday to lead the Colts. Raegan Sudol (34th; 23:09.58), Aly Brokaw (53rd; 24:19.21); Eliyah Molina (54th; 24:20.86) and Callie New (58th; 24:41.14) rounded out the Top 5 runners for the Colts.
Lucas’ Riley Trumpower was the lone Cub running and she took eighth overall with a 21:13.61.
Chloe Jeffers led the Madison Rams with a 64th-place finish in 25:19.34 while Livia Grove took 67th with a 25:33.13. Kensley Turner (72nd; 25:57.81), Savanna Ransom (88th; 28:10.61) and Chloe Schmidt-Payne (93rd; 28:59.46) rounded out the Top 5 runners for the Rams.
In the boys race, Lucas’ Ray Lewis took third overall with a 17:28.92 while Wilson Amert took 80th with a 21:45.13. Lelan Koppert-Smith (114th; 24:18.41) also competed for the Cubs.
Madison was led by Evan Larson who took 24th with an 18:16.53. Jackson Brummett (43rd; 19:28.65), Jon Jacobs (72nd; 21:15.42), Evan Cyrus (75th; 21:29.95) and Alexander Jenkins (84th; 21:56.76) rounded out the Rams’ Top 5 runners on the day.
Tobin Amos led the Clear Fork Colts with a 41st-place finish in 19:27.21. Adam Wallis (93rd; 22:37.07) and Cole Sellers (112th; 24:12.64) competed for the Colts.
Lexington competes well in loaded HOKA Showcase
The Lexington boys and girls cross country teams tested themselves on Saturday at the HOKA Kickoff Classic XC Showcase.
In the boys race, Latrell Hughes took sixth overall with a 16:01.78 while Lincoln Rice finished in 17th with a 16:12.71. Luke Haring (38th; 16:45.91), John Bartone (56th; 16:57.92) and Will Hooper (57th; 17:01.34) rounded out the Top 5 runners for the Minutemen. Lexington took second as a team out of 41 teams with 162 points finishing just behind Woodridge with 111.
For Lady Lex, Katya Prykhodko took 14th with a 19:13.49 while Brailey Slone took 22nd with a 19:33.86. Gabi Twedt (76th; 20:39.59), Evalynn Adkins (79th; 20:42.11) and Jenna Halfhill (92nd; 20:51.62) rounded out the Top 5 runners for Lady Lex. They took seventh as a team out of 36 teams with 271 points.
Mansfield Christian’s Riley Patrick wins White Division of the Seneca East Tiger Classic
In the girls White Division, Mansfield Christian’s Riley Patrick was the division champion taking first overall with a 19:02.59. Leah Robinson (45th; 24:43.82), Leah DeLorenzo (45th; 25:01.89), Stephanie Baughman (51st; 25:19.64) and Adalyn Dean (62nd; 26:12.26) scored for the Flames. Mansfield Christian took fifth out of 13 teams with 150 total points.
Plymouth also competed in the White Division and was led by Morgan Follett’s fifth-place finish in 20:29.51 while Audrey Smith (32nd; 23:42.13), Kristi Yeager (49th; 25:11.48), Anna Caughenbaugh (75th; 27:33.21) and Alyson Lewis (77th; 27:54.74) also ran for the Big Red.
In the boys White Division, Mansfield Christian’s David De Lorenzo was the top runner for the Flames taking ninth with a 17:34.09 while Josiah Schleusener took 30th with an 18:52.99. Caleb Miller (69th; 20:42.55), Blaine Houser (77th; 21:10.85) and Abraham Evans (110th; 23:34.50) rounded out the Top 5 runners for the Flames.
Plymouth also competed in the White Division and was led by Carter Jester who took 67th with a 20:35.61. Weston Smith (82nd; 21:16.78), Trevor Furr (91st; 21:31.96), Levi Foley (120th; 24:21.00) and Luke Kelbley (130th; 25:59.13) rounded out the Top 5 for the Big Red.
In the girls Orange Division, Crestview’s Alina Durbin led the Cougars with a 10th-place finish in 21:18.68 while Emmie Kemp took 15th with a 22:09.01. Gracie Gallaway (20th; 23:14.06), Audrey Wolford (22nd; 23:22.42) and Laynie Kemp (29th; 24:31.68) rounded out the Top 5 runners for the Cougars. Crestview took third out of six teams with 82 total points.
In the boys Orange Division, Crestview’s Isaac McFarland led the Cougars with a 23-place finish in 18:12.31 while Brant Leidigh took 29th with an 18:53.71. Isaac Smith (31st; 19:03.42), Wyatt Love (35th; 19:35.66) and Logan Robinson (39th; 19:43.02) rounded out the Top 5 runners for the Cougars. The team finished in fifth out of 10 teams with 133 points.
In the girls Black Division, Shelby’s Anna Will finished in third place overall with a 19:47.84 while Jordyn Thauvette took 13th with a 21:33.87. Emma Mahek (21st; 22:43.72), Bella Buskey (37th; 24:05.08) and Arabella Ream (39th; 24:15.50) rounded out the Top 5 runners for the Whippets. Shelby took third out of seven teams with 84 total points.
In the boys Black Division, Shelby’s Anthony Tackett took 39th with a 19:13.37 while teammate Blake Nixon took 45th with a 19:20.25. Jake Frangella (52nd; 19:36.31), Sawyer Eshelman (63rd; 20:03.57) and Keegan Sensmeier (74th; 20:23.80) rounded out the Top 5 for the Whippets.
Mansfield Senior’s Gavin Camak led the Tygers with a 50th-place finish in 19:26.58 while Max Weeks (103rd; 21:26.11), Tyler Huggard (129th; 22:57.64), Xavier Kegley (161st; 26:53.83) and Ezekiel Macnamara (172nd; 32:04.68) rounded out the Top 5 for the Tygers.
Ontario competes at GlenOak Golden Eagle Invitational
Xavier Trent led a solid effort from the Ontario Warriors at the GlenOak Golden Eagle Invite on Saturday. He ran a 16:59.48 to take 15th overall leading the Warriors to an 11th-place team finish with 317 points. Ashton Drozda (83rd; 18:44.06), Remington Schroeder (89th; 18:48.65), Rylan Baker (91st; 18:53.34) and Jackson Buttil (94th; 18:55.31) were the Top 5 runners for the Warriors.
In the girls race, Ava Zehe took 46th overalll with a 22:19.23 while Kenzie Goodlin (73rd; 23:34.69), Zoey Shaffer (112th; 26:01.58), Aleiyah Cantey (137th; 28:33.60) and Cooper Schroeder (144th; 29:14.54) competed for the Warriors as the team’s Top 5 runners.
Monday, Aug. 18
Patrick wins Northmor Cross Country Invite
Mansfield Christian’s Riley Patrick kicked off her senior season in style by winning the Northmor Cross Country Invite on Monday with a blistering time of 19:51.39. Lucas’ Riley Trumpower took seventh overall with a 22:27.40 in her very first cross country race. Mansfield Christian’s Leah Robinson (52nd; 26:17.88), Stephanie Baughman (53rd; 26:18.51), Livia Harriger (64th; 28:11.45), Adalynn Dean (28:11.89) and Leah Delroenzo (78th; 29:57.13) also competed for the Flames. Jocelyn Ramey (92nd; 32:59.73) competed for teh Cubs.
In the boys race, Lucas’ Ray Lewis finished in eighth place with an 18:06.47, while teammates Wilson Amert (75th; 22:28.39) and Leland Koppert-Smith (125th; 28:47.43) also competed for the Cubs. Mansfield Christian’s Davis Delorenzo (20th; 19:00.59), Blaine Houser (82nd; 22:49.28), Caleb Miller (94th; 23:25.88), Maddox Beal (95th; 23:31.63), Liam Mikrut (110th; 25:02.61) and Abraham Evans (113th; 25:04.61) competed for the Flames.

Saturday, Aug. 16
OHSAA holds shortened preseason invite
The blistering heat brought an abrupt halt to the 2025 OHSAA Preseason Invitational Saturday.
But not before the Lexington Lady Lex blazed the course to a second-place team finish in the Division II girls race. Katya Prykhodko led the way by taking fourth individually with a 20:03.57, while Brailey Slone was 15th with a 21:15.80, Jenna Halfhill was 26th with a 21:37.82, Gabi Twedt was 27th with a 21:42.50, Evalynn Adkins was 31st with a 21:53.77, Brynn Bruner was 35th with a 22:16.11, Adria Sharrock was 60th with a 23:37.11, Hallie Durbin was 67th with a 23:47.7 and Haley Davies was 71st with a 23:51.90. Lex scored 99 teams points finishing just behind Athens with 79.
The Ontario Warriors also competed in the Division II race as Ava Zehe was 40th overall with a 22:20.18, Kenzie Goodlin was 95th with a 25:18.96, Zoey Shaffer was 129th with a 29:29.77, Aleiya Cantey was 130th with a 30:56.91 and Cooper Schroeder was 133rd with a 32:17.29. The Warriors scored 427 team points to take 15th overall as a team.
The rest of the meet was canceled due to extreme heat in Columbus.
