One New York native is continuing his rise on American Idol, advancing through the competition. Jesse Findling, a 19-year-old Binghamton University student from Long Island, has quickly emerged as one of the standout contestants this season.
Findling first auditioned in Nashville in front of judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood, earning a standing ovation and a golden ticket to Hollywood Week. During his audition, he shared how singing helps him overcome a stutter — a moment that resonated with both judges and viewers.
Since then, Findling has continued to advance, making it through Hollywood Week and into the show’s next rounds. His performances have earned repeated praise from the judges, with Richie telling him, “You don’t have a problem,” and encouraging him to embrace his future in music.
His audition has also drawn nearly 4 million views on YouTube, adding to his growing national attention.
Now, Findling’s journey continues tonight, March 23, as American Idol airs at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The latest episode will feature the next stage of competition as contestants perform for a chance to advance — and for America’s vote.
