Who’s running for Manchester-Shortsville school board?

Manchester-Shortsville Central School District voters will decide Tuesday, May 19, to elect two new members to the district’s Board of Education.

Two candidates are running for the two vacant seats, each with a five-year term starting on July 1, 2026, and ending on June 30, 2031. One of the candidates is an incumbent.

The May 19 vote will take place at the Manchester-Shortsville High School Auditorium, 1506 State Route 21, Shortsville, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Simmons is “Seeking re-election to continue prioritizing: student safety and success, strengthening community connections, and building on the district’s positive momentum. He said he “looks forward to continuing to serve the district and contributing to its long-term success.

What is the main issue facing your school district, and how would you seek to address it if elected? Via the district newsletter:

“She is seeking a position on the Board of Education because of her strong appreciation for the district and its educators.” Rivera said she is “eager to contribute her time and perspective to help support continued growth and success for the school community.”
