An officer-involved shooting occurred in the early morning hours of June 27 in the Village of Wappingers Falls.
New York State Police said the shooting happened in the area of East Main and Market streets and troopers were at the scene. They did not say what time the shooting occurred, who was shot and by whom or the extent of any injuries.
Troopers said there is no ongoing threat to the public as a result of the shooting.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said that as is standard procedure in any officer-involved shooting in New York, the investigation is being led by the State Attorney General’s office. They referred further questions to the Attorney General’s office.
No one was immediately available at either the Attorney General’s main office in Albany or the regional office in Poughkeepsie on June 27.
