Your commute to and from New York City could be a royal pain Wednesday, April 29.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla are in the U.S. this week, and plan to be in the city, making multiple stops, today.
Here’s where delays are expected during the visit.
NYC train changes for royal visit
As of Wednesday morning, the 1 train is skipping the WTC Cortlandt stop in both directions which the MTA says is at the “request of the NYPD.”
The transportation authority tells riders to use the nearby Rector St. 1 train stop or Chambers St. stop for 1, 2 and 3 train service.
Service to WTC Cortlandt is expected to resume at 3 p.m.
Road closures for NYC King Charles visit
Road disruptions will be happening in Manhattan, too, for the royal’s NYC tour.
Although the NYPD did not immediately confirm to USA TODAY what streets would be affected, officials posted that drivers and riders should expect delays and intermittent road closures throughout Manhattan.
“If you’re traveling, allow for extra time and use public transportation when possible,” police said.
The royals plan to make multiple stops during the trip, including to the 9/11 memorial, a nonprofit in Harlem and the New York Public Library main location for an event.
Due to stops scattered across the city, traffic can be expected in multiple parts of Manhattan.
