A Westchester County woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on the Bear Mountain Parkway early Saturday morning, according to New York State Police.
Crash on Bear Mountain Parkway
Troopers said the crash occurred around 5 a.m. May 16 on Bear Mountain Parkway between Locust Avenue and Arlo Lane in the town of Cortlandt.
Investigators said a westbound vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Westchester County woman crossed the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle head-on. The impact pushed the eastbound vehicle off the north side of the roadway.
A third eastbound vehicle then came upon the scene and struck the disabled westbound car and the driver, who had exited her vehicle after the initial crash, police said.
Victim identified
The driver who was struck after exiting her car was identified as Darly G. Bravo Coello, 28, of Yorktown Heights. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to State Police.
Other drivers injured
The other two drivers — a 54-year-old Orange County man and a 44-year-old Westchester County woman — were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Investigation ongoing
Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
