Last week was highlighted by some head-turning victories, some career-best performances, and a few thrilling finishes. Those exciting games produced for us 12 candidates for Girls Basketball Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital.
Our previous poll winners this season were Abby Nadborny (Scarsdale), Maria Ribeiro (Hen Hud), Jade Jackson (White Plains), Phoebe Greto (Rye) and Riley Waters (Lakeland).

Read below about what the nominees accomplished last week, then cast your votes. The poll will be open until 3 p.m. Wednesday and the winner will be featured on lohud sports social media accounts.
Madison Bortstein, Ardsley
The senior scored a career-high 31 points, including a floater with 0.5 seconds left in double overtime that lifted the Panthers to a 49-47 win over Bronxville. The guard also had 12 rebounds.
Caitlin Dempsey, Pearl River
The sophomore had 23 points, four steals and four assists for the Pirates in a win over Byram Hills last Wednesday.
Michaela Fay, Suffern
She had nine points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer in the third quarter, along with five steals in a 51-47 win over Ursuline. Fay led the defense and set a tone with her hustle and physicality, despite just returning from a broken collarbone.
Peyton Forde, Harvey School
The senior guard scored 25 points to lead the Cavaliers in a 53-47 win against rival Storm King School. Forde also had 22 points in their win over Masters.
Jelena Herceg, Irvington
She had 15 points, nine rebounds and five steals to lead the Bulldogs in a 49-37 win over Dobbs Ferry on Wednesday.
Kayana Holder, Woodlands
The guard had 22 points and nine steals, leading the Falcons in a 51-32 win over Haldane last Wednesday.
Fiona Kelleher, Mahopac
She had 14 points and played well defensively on the wing, leading the Wolf Pac to a 59-53 upset of Ossining last Monday.
Alyssa Livulpi, Carmel
The freshman scored a career-high 39 points, leading the Rams to a nail-biting 82-80 win over Poughkeepsie last Wednesday.
Emma McDowell, Nanuet
The freshman had 15 points, nine steals, eight rebounds and three assists for the Golden Knights in a 46-39 win over Clarkstown North.
McKayla McLoughlin, Port Chester
The sophomore averaged 25.3 points per game, leading the Rams to three victories last week. She had 33 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a win over Roosevelt on Friday.
Sadie Minella, Sleepy Hollow
The eighth-grader averaged 24 points and five rebounds per game last week, including scoring 29 points to lead the Horsemen in a win over Gorton.
Maddy Zuppe, Albertus Magnus
The point guard had 16 points, eight assists and three steals for the Falcons in a win over previously undefeated Rye on Saturday. Zuppe also had eight points and 11 assists in their victory over Ossining.
