New York State Police said two men fatally stabbed each other during an altercation Aug. 7 in the Town of Chenango.
Troopers said 48-year-old Jeffrey Ryan, of Binghamton, drove to 50-year-old Harry Swan’s residence at 1086 Castle Creek Road, where an altercation ensued.
During the altercation, Ryan allegedly stabbed Swan, and Swan then went into the home, got a knife and stabbed Ryan.
Troopers responded to the residence at 11:15 p.m. Swan was pronounced dead at the scene and Ryan was transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center, where he later died.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
