Stabbing leaves man seriously injured; woman charged in domestic dispute

A man was seriously injured after being stabbed during a domestic dispute at a Carlton residence over the weekend, according to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to a home in Carlton shortly after 11:40 p.m. Saturday, July 24, after receiving a report that someone had suffered “severe lacerations” during a domestic dispute, Sheriff Christopher Bourke said.

When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from what officials described as “life-threatening blood loss.”

Deputies provide lifesaving aid

Deputies applied tourniquets and provided emergency medical care until emergency medical technicians arrived.

The injured man, who was not identified, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officials said Monday that his injuries were serious, but his condition was stable.

Woman charged in stabbing

Alyssa M. Canne, 34, of Lyndonville, was accused of stabbing the man with a “sharp instrument” during the incident, deputies said.

The stabbing allegedly occurred in front of a child, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Canne was arraigned and is being held in the Orleans County Jail pending further court proceedings.
