Annual membership prices for Sam’s Club will be rising in May as the warehouse store company prepares to expand its footprint across the United States this year.
The Arkansas-based company, a division of Walmart, operates as a members-only warehouse club with more than 600 locations within the United States and Puerto Rico, according to its website.
When will the rates rise?
According to the company – the rates will increase on Friday, May 1. The price increase was communicated to Sam’s Club members through email, according to Southern Living.
“We have adjusted our membership pricing to support the things our members love,” Sam’s Club told USA TODAY.
How much more will I pay for a Sam’s Club membership?
According to Sam’s Club, the price increases of $10 will impact both its Club membership and its Club Plus membership.
AS of May 1, the Club membership will cost $60 a year, while the Plus membership rate will rise to $120 a year. Plus members will also be able to earn up to $750 a year in Sam’s Cash rewards. Those rewards were previously capped at $500.
Sam’s Club membership discount before May 1 increases
Ahead of the May 1 price increase in memberships, Sam’s Club is offering a $30 Club membership deal through April 23.
What’s the difference between the Club and Plus membership?
The Club membership provides access to all Sam’s Club locations and standard savings. The Plus membership offers extra benefits such as 2% cash rewards on qualifying purchases, free shipping on most items, earlier shopping hours and extra discounts on pharmacy and optical services.
The basic Club membership tier includes one card for the primary account holder and a complimentary card for another household member.
