New York Giants star Darius Alexander has the potential to be a difference-maker for the team in 2026.
In the eyes of Sports Illustrated’s Brandon Olsen, Alexander is capable of plugging the holes the Giants face at defensive tackle this coming season.
On top of just playing more snaps in general, I would expect to see him play a more alignment-versatile role across the interior of the defensive line, especially with the injury to Robertson-Harris.
With the new coaching staff, Alexander should be given more opportunities to take advantage of the one-on-one time created by the trio of Burns, Thibodeaux, and Carter.
The Giants traded away Dexter Lawrence this offseason and lost starting defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris to a torn Achilles at OTAs this spring.
Alexander is one of the next men up for the Giants who will be asked to provide meaningful production in 2026. He recorded 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, and six QB hits last season as a rookie, appearing in 16 games and making two starts for New York.
Signs point toward Alexander delivering a strong level of play next season if he receives the necessary snaps.
